My Pathway marked the opening of its new office and celebrated International Day of People with Disability this week. Local community members attended the Davis Street site to network and access information about improving workforce inclusion.
My Pathway has operated in Rockhampton for more than 12 months, delivering Disability Employment Services and connecting clients to its national network of business development, training and project management services.
My Pathway Chief Operating Officer, Chris McLaughlin, said workforce inclusion should be afforded to every Australian.
“We all know that employment plays a significant role in creating a healthy and thriving community. Beyond the importance of earning an income, employment fosters social inclusion, develops skills and helps people to feel valued.
“Our goal this International Day of People with Disability is to improve recognition of people’s abilities and support Rockhampton employers to be more inclusive,” he said.
Mr McLaughlin added that people in Rockhampton were able to choose who provided their services.
“People now have a choice when it comes to accessing Disability Employment Services. My Pathway can connect job seekers with employment opportunities and assist business owners to create more diverse workforces,” he said.
My Pathway is a provider of Disability Employment Services which is an initiative of, funded and otherwise supported by the Australian Government.
